He was buried on his farm in Stokes Co., NC. THis farm is now Horizon Park, Winston-Salem and is now in Forsythe Co., NC. Edward had 8 children, 7 boys, one girl. (?) (?) And Edward MERRITT were married in 1753 in Essex Co., VA.

	ii.	James MERRITT was born on 1 March 1755 in Essex Co., VA. He died on 10 June 1833 at the age of 78.
	iii.	William MERRITT was born on 20 December 1762 in Essex Co., VA. He died on 22 May 1841 at the age of 78.
	iv.	Thomas MERRITT was born in 1765 in Stokes Co., NC.
	v.	Joel MERRITT was born in 1767 in Essex Co., VA.
	vi.	Obadiah MERRITT was born in 1770 in Stokes Co., NC.
	vii.	Joseph MERRITT was born in 1774 in Stokes Co., NC.
