Johnson, 82, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Ellison House of Greenfield. He was born April 8, 1928 in Hancock County and is the son of the late Duard L. and Bertha E. (Williams) Johnson. He was postmaster at Maxwell for 33 years, owner of Johnson's General Store and a school bus driver. He was a member of the Eden Lodge #477 F. & A. M., I.O.O.F. #135, Greenfield National Association of U. S. Postmasters, National Association of Federal Employees, and Trinity Park United Methodist Church of Greenfield. Surviving include his wife, Peggy J. (Willing) Johnson of Greenfield; sons, Fred E. (Alberta) Johnson of Greenfield, and Cleve A. (Lisa) Johnson of Greenfield; four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters, Eva May Clapp of Greensburg, and Betty Jean Stevens of Greenfield; and a brother, William H. Johnson of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Lou Stephenson; sisters, Thelma Marie Haywood, and Addie L. Bennett; and brothers, Duard L. Johnson, Jr. and Meredith P. Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel in Greenfield. There will be no graveside services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with Eden Masonic Lodge #477 F. & A. M., services at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Park United Methodist Church, Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Association. Clarence graduated from Maxwell High School, Maxwell, IN. Clarence and Peggy operated a general store in Maxwell for almost 12 years. Clarence was a school bus driver for 6 years and Maxwell Postmaster for 33 years, retiring December 1989. Clarence Earl JOHNSON and Wanetta Jane "Peggy" WILLING were married on 3 November 1950 in Maxwell, Hancock Co., IN.49 The ceremony was performed by Rev. Marion King and Rev. Myron Stump in the Maxwell, Indiana United Methodist Church. Their attendees were Meredith and Doris Johnson. Wanetta Jane "Peggy" WILLING was born (date unknown). Peggy was from Grove City, Ohio.
